Currently around 2 years (using standard AA batteries). This will be more like 3+ years with future device updates, especially for locations that have low bag consumption. The portal provides feedback on battery levels and can send you a email when the batteries need to be replaced.

Nope! Our dispensers are made with materials that wont rust! This makes them very suitable for use along the coast where salt spray affects steel dispensers. We reccomend a WD type spray on the lock once per year and thats it!

We have put a lot of thought and testing behind this issue! We have a simple breaking mechanism that is easy to adjust and reliable. It adds some friction to the roll so that when you pull the bags out of the dispenser the roll doesn’t free spin spooling bags across the park!

Its also really easy to set up the breaking mechanism to achieve a 1 hand operation. Simply pull the bags and then give it a quick tug and the bag tears off nicely.

Just plain old AA’s. Each dispenser is shipped with leak-proof AA lithium batteries and we recommend leak-proof lithium AA batteries for this reason. Though standard AA Alkaline batteries can be used, just as long as they are of high quality and wont leak onto the board, of which are available free of charge for all councils that subscribe to our smart system.

Its simple. Compostable bags are design to compost in certain conditions, and temperature is one them. Unlike steel dispensers, our dispensers do not conduct and transmit heat onto the bags. The internal temperature is around ambient providing the best possible conditions for compostable bags in the field. Our bags are also widely used by the major retailers, which only accept high quality products that has long shelf life.

Its totally not! Our dispensers and bags are mostly the same as the current analogue systems. Weve designed it that way!

No time at all! We aim to ship all orders within a few days of order placement. Once received, each dispenser is live and ready to go. Simply install the dispenser and then logon to the portal, rename it and place it on the map and jobs done! You can expect to be up and running within days!

Yes there is as each unit has a sim card and uses the Telstra network. There are subscription fees per dispenser (its way cheaper than you are thinking) which includes data charges, portal access and fabulous support. The fees are greatly reduced if bags are purchased via Little Rippers (though your welcome to buy bags elsewhere). We offer an annual loyalty fund for smart dispenser customers which you can use towards dispenser and subscriptions so that over time your dispenser fleet is not just fully funded by credits, it can potentially be replaced using loyalty fund credits.

Absolutely. No IT skills needed whatsoever! Each smart dispenser is shipped with its unique ID number. When you receive the unit, you login to the web portal and locate the dispenser in the list by its ID number. You then simply rename it, place it on the map and that’s it!

Well they dont actually ring your phone! Instead they report into our web portal where you can login and see a live map of all your dispensers. You can configure the traffic light system so that each dispenser is colour coded based on its levels. For example, 0-10% can be red, 10-30% amber and 30-100% green. A quick scan over the map will tell you exactly what needs to be done
